Suggested text for sharing the application:

The Oregon Chapter of the Federal Bar Association is now taking applications for the 2016-2017 Ancer Haggerty Scholars Program.

As noted in the application, this program offers current high school juniors (i.e., 2017 graduates) an opportunity to explore their interest in the law and civil rights by spending time with a local attorney mentor, visiting a law office (such as a law firm or government prosecutor or defender’s office) for a week-long visit during the summer, and receiving invitations to other special events involving the law and civil rights during the 2016-2017 school year.  Chosen scholars also attend the annual Oregon Chapter FBA dinner on May 26, 2016, with a parent or teacher to kick off the program.

The Board of the Oregon Chapter would like to ask you to please share this application with any students you know who are qualified and might be interested in the program.  The Oregon Chapter would like to receive completed applications no later than April 15 (the application process should be fairly quick), and they can be mailed or emailed to either of the addresses on the application.  We have accepted students in both Eugene and Portland.
